good ol gramps

wednesday my grandpa called me and told me that ever since i married that boy i haven't been to visit that often. (don't get me wrong he loves andrew, but misses his family) so on friday andrew and i left to go to island park. my grandpa lives in his cabin during the summer and he gets pretty lonely. andrew loves to take pictures and so we left extra early knowing that dinner was at 6 for grandpa. we took some other roads and andrew took pictures. it was a nice drive and we actually got to talk about everything we wanted to. (it's hard with andrew being in school and me working. we are always super busy and never get to spend time together so it was REALLY WONDERFUL!!) we arrived at the cabin and grandpa was ready to go. he wanted to go out... lets see, so our options were cafe inn and subway. awesome. we decided on cafe inn. it was seriously delicious. we went home and watched the news and gramps was off to bed. andrew and i had a tossful, turnful night. it was awful... andrew got up at 5 and went to take pictures. so when he got back i got up and we went to yellowstone. gramps decided he wanted to go as well. so when it was getting around lunch time gramps kept saying, "up here they have a really good biscuit." we finally got to the the little town inside yellowstone. we ended up at the general store to get our biscuits. gramps favorite was the frozen cheeseburger that he had to heat up in the microwave... ps he has no teeth and didn't bring his dentures. he's so cute and chowed it down like a pro. andrew and i shared the most horrible sandwich. oh grandpa and his biscuit. we headed back to island park and everything was so much fun. i'm pretty sure grandpa had a good day. yellowstone was so beautiful and there was elk and buffalo everywhere.

now we're back in rexburg and am hoping for a good night's sleep. my pictures are never as good as andrew's but i like sharing my lovely work ;)
this video is of the upper falls in yellowstone. it was amazing!

these lovely buffalos were just walking in the street holding up traffic for like 30 minutes. they decided to just mosey on down the street. it was pretty fun.

I cannot believe that you actually went to Yellowstone in the middle of the summer....or start. I loved your pictures. Looking forward to seeing some of Andrew's artwork soon too. Glad you had a good visit with Gramps....
