6 crazy weeks

I know it's been a while since I've last blogged, but it has been one wild ride the last 6 weeks. So I guess I'll start from the beginning. This is going to be long... beware!
Well Andrew and I are settled in, but like everywhere we live, our second bedroom is still a disastrous box room. We are working on it slowly, but surely. We love our place except our phone reception! It is perfect for us and in a great location. We live in a small town Harrison New Jersey which is like a part of Newark, New Jersey. Newark has some really ghetto places and at night you do not want to be anywhere near there. Harrison is full of Peruvians, and we live right in the middle of the Peruvian community. They always stare at us as we enter our building only because we are the only white people that live on here. It's pretty comical. We live right next to resuturants, salons, barber shops, tailoring shops, 99 cent stores, and much much more. We couldn't ask for a better location.
Andrew's job is going AWESOME! He is loving every minute of it and is very good at it. People at work are already really impressed with his work and have given him more responsibilities that others didn't get to do until months after working there. He is such a hard worker and it shows. So he is in contact with a lot of AD agencies everyday and puts their ads in DirecTV's slots. (I really hope I explained that right.) His accounts are the busiest so he ends up working really late sometimes, but if you know Andrew you know that he LOVES to work so it all works out ok!
Originally I (being Jess) moved here to Harrison with a job already locked in. I was going to work in NYC at Wachovia (which is a bank here in the East) After exploring this little town of Harrison I stumbled upon a Wachovia right around the corner from our house and decided that I would rather stay around here. So I was in contact with the NYC branch and letting them know that I'd rather work here. The manager was really nice about it and totally understood. Well somethings got confused and in the end after, weeks and weeks of talking with multiple people, they told me I would have to work in NYC for 6 months before I could transfer. Now I know that sounds like a great opportunity and how lucky I was to even have a job, but then something crazy happened....... I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant at the time!!! So I knew something was up when I was feeling really sick all the time. Sure enough the pregnancy stick showed positive within 2 seconds. I just knew that I wouldn't last 6 months of 14 hour days on my feet feeling awful and then having to ride the train home with all the stops and winding around. Just thinking about it makes me sick. It ended up that I turned down the job and am currently not working.
Andrew and I both got callings at our branch, but first let me tell you a little bit about our "branch." I call it a twig instead of a branch because on average we have about 70 active members. It is VERY DIVERSE! We have people from literally everywhere in the world. Their stories are really amazing and they are soooo awesome. It is actually the first time I have felt so welcomed into the church. I can't even begin to tell you the love that I have for these people here. There are only 2 young women and 3-4 young men. The primary went from 1 child to 12 children in one week. A lot of them are brothers and sisters so it was kinda crazy how fast our branch grew in like 2-3 weeks. So Andrew got called to be the Gospel Doctrine teacher and Jess is the 2 counselor in the Young Women and also the only Primary teacher, but the primary is temporary. In this branch I'm not quite sure what temporary means though so I am expecting to be there for a while. My heart truly belongs in the Young Women's though. The two girls that are in there are sisters and have had a very very hard life and they are only 12 and 14. They are really hardened, but such good girls. Coming from Idaho and being such a girly girl I sometimes don't know how to go about talking to them about things like standards. There is NO organization in our branch and it's been a whirl wind to say the least, but such a cool experience. We feel so blessed to be here right now.Andrew and I actually got to go to the youth temple trip to do baptisms for the dead and had such a blast. The youth loved it and thought it was the coolest thing ever.
I know that I have already mentioned that I am not working right now, but to be honest I feel like I am not working for a reason. There are a lot of things to be done for this branch and I have already put my not working to good use. Also there are a lot of expecting mothers who know I am not working so they have asked me to baby sit or to help them run some errands and I have been more then willing. I just feel like maybe I am not working for their sakes. Does that sound silly??? maybe, but I feel grateful for not working. I've been walking in the mornings with a lady and her daughter and have loved getting to know her. I've been designated to be the hospital runner if the baby comes and husbands aren't around. So this is my work....
My birthday came and went and Andrew got me stuff that I've been asking for! What a good husband he is. We went to Hibachi which I am a huge fan of and have been craving. So that was really fun and then I got really sick... awesome.. thank you to my little baby pistachio. I'm due sometime in October. I'll let you know more when I know more! So 23 and preggo, never thought I'd say that in the same sentence, but what a fun birthday, thank you to my wonderful hubby.
While Andrew was at work the other day, he was sitting at his desk when all the sudden some people were jumping out of their chairs rushing to the window. A guy from the building next to them actually jumped out the window and fell on the building next to them. That happened at around noon and the body wasn't taken away until 6pm when Andrew was leaving to go home. Wow how crazy for that to happen and on my birthday too. I just think that's so sad to be that upset with life.
Oh yeah I almost forgot, a few weeks ago when we found out we were pregnant we decided to celebrate. So we went into the city ate at a really nice steakhouse and then went to go see Wicked. Oh my heck it was so good! We got some seriously good seats and I was really impressed. It was my first broadway play and I will defiantly be back.
We really have had some crazy experiences but this blog would just be toooo long to write them all down so I think I might start blogging more to share some of these funny stories with you all. So conference is right around the corner and we decided to go to DC for the weekend and going to hit all the museums for the fun of it. So look for that next week. Alright here are some pictures of what has been happening here.
I tried to download the video tour of our apartment but it wouldn't work so I'll try later.

New Jersey... here comes a piece of Idaho

Just a quick update... We are moving to Harrison New Jersey, it is about 30-40 minutes by train to New York City. Andrew got a job at DirecTV doing advertising, and Jess got a job with Wachovia right by 5 Ave. So luckily we can be going into the city everyday together! I will give a little longer update this next week when I have more time. I will tell you our adventure of the house finding and post pictures.

2010 already...

Wow who can believe that it's another year, another resolution, another year of adventures and trials. I am looking forward to this coming year and what it beholds. 2009 was good to us with new jobs and not to many people can say that. Even though these may not be the ideal place to live, the most ideal jobs for the either of us, we feel very blessed to have a home, clothing, food, jobs, health, and wonderful family. When I say wonderful family, I mean the most super, fantastic, amazingly lovable family that we both have! Here a just a few pictures from 2009. These are just from the last few months that I have been promising.

Andrew is leaving for 20 whole days tomorrow to go to New York and then London so my mom has decided to come and visit for a few days and then it's work work work. I have decided that while Andrew is gone I am going to do a bunch of around the stuff house. I also need to start studying my Portuguese again, working out, eating better, and studying my scriptures more. Andrew is really excited to be going to Europe and I am excited for him... a little sad that we aren't going together but that's ok, there is always next time when we are super wealthy;) or in a few years when we are still somewhat poor, but have saved. HA! So anyways if anyone wants to play and you live close, just let me know I'll be here. We hope everyone is going to have a good year and make great resolutions for the new year. We love you all

3 years on the dot!

Well Andrew and I are celebrating our 3 year anniversary today! Last night we did a little celebrating as well.. we went to see a movie, The Blind Side, and we went to dinner at the Olive Garden (that is as good as it gets in idaho falls.) The movie was sooooo good and we just had fun. This was actually the first year we didn't go somewhere. It was nice to just hang out and do something different for change. We talked about 3 years ago the night before our wedding and how funny it was the things that we remembered... I remembered that my mom and I had just spotted a cockroach and made monte kill it and then my mom and I slept in the same bed and monte and trav had to sleep on a small pull out couch... ( we were in Hawaii for those of you who don't remember) we talked a good part of the night and for me that was special.
Andrew remembers climbing diamond head with his family, enjoying the day with them and later sleeping in the same room with his nephew Matthew, only to be woken up a few hours later to have Matthew being extremely sick.
That leads to our honeymoon where Andrew and I vomited the whole time and even missed our flight because we were so sick.... haha that is a vacation that will never be forgotten. Well hopefully not since it was our wedding, but what an interesting time it was.

Since Andrew and I have been married nothing to exciting has happened, except for our love has only grown stronger and the man I've seen him become has meant more then my expectations. What a wonderful father he will someday be and I know that he will lead us and guide us to a great rest of our lives. I feel so lucky to have such a loving, dedicated, hard working spouse, someone who NEVER lets me down. We never fight, (unless it's game night... then that's just competition) anything I ask of him it's always done, and anything I need he has it ready before I even ask! WOW he's pretty amazing if I do say so myself. Andrew I love you will all my being, with all my heart, with all my strength. You are my everything and I know you know that, but just don't ever forget it! I love you boo

Anyways I know that it's been long since pictures and a post but only because we don't have internet at our place right now and since we are both never home we don't plan on getting it soon. As far as the pictures well it's just finding the time to load them. Someday soon I will put them on here. I promise.

Gotta love Jackson Hole

So this last weekend Andrew and I decided to go on a little weekend gettaway. It was so nice to be by ourselves. We found an awesome deal for a hotel there way up on this mountain. It was so beautiful and it overlooked all these mountains and farmlands. We went and walked around for a while and saw all the shops and got some fudge. Then we went to dinner and it was awful. It was suppose to this really nice restaurant. It was the Cadillac Grill. Please don't ever go there ok... So we went back to our little hotel and we just hung out. Then next day we went to breakfast at this little place called Jedediah's sourdough house, or something like that. It was AMAZING. It totally made up for dinner. We went and explored and took some pictures. When we were headed home we went through the pass and when we were headed up there, there were some ranchers herding cattle. It was soo cool to see. I took some pictures but of course I'll post pictures later (my famous last words) So we got to the pass and we it was snowing and everyone was sliding off the road. Luckily we didn't! So it was very fun and just relaxing.

Well things are going well here in Idaho Falls. I am working as a teller at Wells Fargo. It's not very exciting but good pay and all. Andrew is going to St. Louis for a trade show for work and will be gone for quite a while. I asked my friend Mandy to come stay with me while Andrew will be gone. I hate sleeping alone by myself in the house, I get pretty freaked out. So it snowed the other day and really that's all that is new but not to exciting cuz who likes snow... not me!

Small update

Well I made it to Idaho Falls on the 1st of September and tomorrow we are headed back to Boise to pick up the rest of our belongings that has been sitting there for 2 months. I have NO CLUE where we are going to put all these boxes that we are bringing back. Our townhouse is so little and we already can't walk around due to decorations galore!

It has been kinda nice not to have a job, but that lasted all of about 2 days of sitting and sleeping in now i am wondering what do to with myself. I have cleaned and put things away, but you can only handle so much of that day in and day out. I have had some interviews and I have one tonight so we'll see what happens.

Andrew's job is going sooooo GREAT! He is loving it there and in October he will be going to his first trade show in St Louis, Missouri. That lucky duck! His bestie Mark works with him and they are like 2 little school girls always giggling and hanging out. It is quite funny and I am very happy that Andrew has a good friend here, that is something he was missing in Boise. This job has been so good for him and I can see him trying to out due himself from the day before. He is such a hard worker and that company should be so thankful for him and his dedication. I'm sure the company is.... I'm just sayin.

We are doing really good and are just happy to finally be near each other rather that 4 hours apart. We haven't done to many exciting things as usual, but that's life and we just enjoy each other's company. We are super excited about the new fall season of TV. All the goods are finally back on.. especially the Office and Grey's.
Now I'm off to my interview wish me luck

It's time

So I was informed today that Monday would be my last day at the BBC -aka- Boise Barber College. I am having some serious emotions about this move. I have put tons into this school and am just dying knowing that I am leaving such amazing people and all my hard work I am leaving there. I started training someone today to take my job and WOW I didn't know just how much I really did there. All my students are so upset and I am hoping this new lady will be a good replacement. I am also really sad to be leaving my nephews and my little baby nephew who I barely know. I hope they don't forget their Auntie Jessie.

I have this prospective job already in Idaho Falls and feel its important I get there. Not only for this job, but especially for Andrew! I am sooo excited just to be together again. Finally we can put our house together and just get settled.

Well wish me luck on wrapping it up here.
XOXO
